Bus operators are required by legislation to conduct driver training and the workplace health and safety act only regards a driver's licence to be a prerequisite qualification. To assist bus operators, Safe Drive Training has developed an inexpensive yet comprehensive eLearning defensive driving course aimed at bus drivers.

HOW IT WORKS

Users log-in and progress through modules covering the essential aspects of safe and defensive driving. Unlike a classroom lecture, the modules are self-paced and users can pause and rewind the videos. A quiz verifies that each driver understands the subject matter.

A certificate is generated for the bus driver's training records when all modules are completed with a 100% score on the assessment.

The modules are not simply filmed classroom lectures, but rather are entertaining and educational videos showing real life dashcam examples of good and bad driving, plus demonstrations we have staged at driver training centres and vision from our driving simulator.

Given a bus costs $100,000 - $300,000 dollars to buy, plus thousands to insure each year and tens of thousands to operate annually. If your drivers avoid a crash and develop safer and smoother driving habits, then your organisation will save money. Not to mention the potential of saving lives or preventing injuries from avoiding a serious bus crash.

IS PRACTICAL DRIVER TRAINING AVAILABLE?

Yes, if practical training is required, SDT instructors can visit your location and conduct in-vehicle driver mentoring and where suitable driver training centres exist we can also offer a more advanced vehicle control session. In some cities bus operators get together and book a date for a combined session for all of their drivers.

AND YES DRIVER TRAINING IS 120% TAX DEDUCTIBLE:

From 2022, all Australian small businesses are entitled to claim 120% of their training expenses up to a maximum of $100,000. This means for every $1,000 spent on driver training, businesses are entitled to claim a $1,200 tax deduction.
